I stopped there for a meal and nap I think in the early 90's and they did good. As far as the service, food etc.
There was a different stop I think below Strasbourg on 81 a ways which had truck parking and so on, I used it as a coffee stop primarily. It got a little difficult to put up with that section of 81 in my later years.2old Thanks this. -

Exit numbers used to be different in Pennsylvania too.
Yeah they were all 76 back then before T/A hit the scene. My first truck was a 1973 GMC Astro. You can have them cabovers. I hated them back then and I was glad to get out of them. I moved Parts back and forth between Cleveland and Detroit in a 45-foot dry box.
I used to run across Highway 40 and 48 before they build Interstate 68 across Maryland. Ran Hazmat out of Baltimore and Wilmington Delaware and couldn't go across the PA Pike.
I don't think I ever had a truck with a jake brake until maybe the mid-90s. I could tell you some crazy stories of how I learn the hard way going up and down them mountains without a jake brake. I could tell you some crazy stories on how I learn to adjust brakes back then too.
You can thank the corporate push for attracting all these young drivers out here these days and qualifying them as driver trainers with as little as what five or six months. It sure is a far cry from the way it used to be.whoopNride and 2old Thank this. -
I wear flip-flops, shorts, and a t-shirt whenever i'm driving. I also hold the steering wheel when i'm driving...which according to all the super truckers out there, is indicative of someone who has no clue what they're doing. So I guess my attire is telling...
ExtremeUnction and 2old Thank this. -

Response: I don't understand what you mean about holding the wheel being indicative of not having a clue? How else would you drive the truck?
Or maybe that was a failed attempt at sarcasm?
But thanks for weighing in. -
whoopNride, BigBob410 and 2old Thank this.

Response: Well back then, you kept your 9/16 wrench, a screw driver and a hammer handy. Self adjusters hadn't been invented yet lol. And it was amazing how we descended every kind of mountain with out a jake.
Enjoyed your post. Thanks!MooneyBravo and x1Heavy Thank this. -
