There was a thread here on TTR about some older gentleman in a bathroom dropping his pants and drying his crack with the hand blow dryer. It was great, do what you need to, don't worry about anyone else.

Older folks and drivers seem to be better at holding a conversation than most folks I meet back home.
BTW I cannot count the number of times I've seen naked old men blowdrying themselves in the change room at the gym. FAR TOO MANY!Oldironfan and 2old Thank this. -

That stuff was going on back in the 70's as well. Maybe not as (frequent) as now but, there were places that it was hard to get a good night sleep. The 76 truck stop in Calumet Illinois comes to mind.

Now 61 years old, I started driving in 1978. I typically wear work boots and jeans, a clean non frayed ball cap and a shirt with a collar. In winter I will probably have a watch cap on if I am outside the truck. My belief is the motoring public does not have much love for us, so maybe if I look halfway respectable I can help push that aside maybe just a little bit. No tailgating and as much courtesy as I can provide to the four wheelers goes hand-in-hand with this theory I have. Yeah I know, mr. Goody Two-Shoes.
I know how I like to present myself but on the other hand, I'm not too concerned with what others wear. I have enough trouble taking care of my own s**+ without worrying about what others do.Omega1, Oldironfan, REO6205 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Being stuck for the weekend in a truck stop used to be my biggest fear. Honestly, I did everything I could to avoid it, and, as you know, there are those times when it can't be avoided.Stuck for the weekend
I didn't have a TV. I could have bought one but opted not to. No video games in those days, though even after they were invented I didn't care for them. I was never one to sit in the drivers lounge either but, I did get pretty good at pinball. I drank a lot of coffee and sat in the restaurant and dumped quarters in the jukebox. Sometimes I'd drop the trailer and take a ride. But I was usually so aggravated by the fact that I was stuck for two days that it spoiled my chances of enjoying much of anything. I do have a couple of good memories though. Lake Tahoe turned out to be a good weekend, and St Louis was good too. Tacoma, Fort Wayne, Amarillo and Albuquerque were good party towns. At least I knew where to go and pass the time.
Then, early Monday morning I was sitting in front of the shipper waiting impatiently for them to open. The time seemed to drag on endlessly.roadtech Thanks this. -
A bunch of whiny, complaining men who have too much free time on their hands... Just drive, take your breaks and be safe...
