seeing more of this latley.a driver sets the handle catch on and hangs up the nozzle.another driver pulls up and if not paying attention flicks the pump on ,diesel everywhere.why would a driver do this to another driver?this bs gets out of hand the EPA will have you fueling one tank at a time,no auto shut-offs anymore.

It happens, usually on the satellite pump side as the driver turned off the main pump and simply put the satellite nozzle away. Most cases of this happening are just a driver being careless, not sabotage. After it happens to you once, it becomes routine to make sure the nozzle is off before you activate the pump. It's really not a problem if you aren't careless yourself. I had it happen to me about 10 years ago, and never since though I've found a locked on nozzle probably a dozen times.

I took advice to what another driver had said on here about putting the nozzle in the tank before turning the pump on. I do that from now on

Most nozzles will shut off as soon as there is no pressure, I have only rarely found one still on. I'm not saying it never could happen, but the auto shut off feature wouldn't likely work, as advertized, either.

This problem more likely when it is cold out.

    DrtyDiesel and aiwiron Thank this.

Did you hear of the driver that couldn't find where to put the nozzle on the truck?

Kidding, but this something annoys the hell out of people who just had a shower not to long ago.

I always check and put the nozzle in the tank even before carding the pump.
