I probably should just stop talking about it, but you guys really have no idea how angry this makes me. I never did anything like this to anyone. Every citation, save two, I was 100% certain of and those two I had some doubt and tossed them out on my own, as in, I never turned them in. Intentionally being dishonest and effecting a persons livelihood is pretty scum baggish if you ask me. Now I'll have to spend several hundred dollars on this right before Christmas. Sorry kids, less stuff for you because dad has to deal with unprofessional people who enjoy making things up because they are bored.

Why not write the DA with all the proof and explain what happened?

I may do that. I'm still on the road right now and only have my phone.

They are waste of money. Google yourself a lawyer from the area where the court is... same effectiveness 30 - 40 $ a month not worth it.

I disagree. I think for a new driver, something like OpenRoad is not a bad idea. Worked with a guy who got an overweight. Honest mistake by him. The lawyer they provided got him out of a fine equal to about two years of his OpenRoad membership fees. And he had only been with them 4 months. So, for the first year or two, when someone is most likely to make a mistake, I think it is a good idea.

So, I was able to send in all of the information they requested. A detailed account of the incident, I took screen shots of my phone which will be corroborated by Sprint, a photo of my eLog, a photo of the sun in our faces, and a few other things. The lawyer will plead not guilty to the citation and inspection report and get a new court date. I will update you when I have more.

Sir, when I was experiencing the legal side of my own accidents, specifically being sued in civil court because the losses versus our ability to keep trucking was out of balance. The emotions are there. But a lesson from that would be to carry a few dollars worth of civil liability insurance each month that way if something happens and you are sued anyway you have some defense.

I think it is good that you and family have a christmas. Everyone should, however humble and peaceful it is. The materialistic stuff is for the birds lol.

Do yourself a favor get a.good legal plan. California, Arizona, state trooper are tuff on truckers, especially california with 55 miles an hour for trucks. A good legal plan is a life saver when see the blue, red, and white lights on the backside of your trailer getting you to pull over. $30 a month is cheaper than eating fast food at the truckstop daily. It helps save the points on your license and your company's CSA score if are in your truck when you got stopped. I have a legal plan and it has worked magic for me every single time! I gladly pay my $30 monthly for the excellent results I gotten from it!

I got stopped in my POV in the state of Illinois for texting while driving. The thing is I had my phone in my hand and I wasn't texting. I pleaded not guilty and asked for time to obtain an attorney. The judge said it wasn't illegal to necessarily have the phone in my hand. Kind of a gray area. I called driver's legal services to see if they can help. No trucking company will touch me with that on there..
