I live in South Florida and made the move up to ND. It is well worth it trust me. Gert on with a good company that has housing. Thats the most important thing. You will make 2500 to 3500 per wk there pulling oil and maybe a little less with water. I left there to go to TX and Ok. and these 2 places are a joke. NO money what so ever. I am going back up north to make real money. Do yourself a favor and pack it up and go. Its well worth it if you want to make the best kind of money in the US right now. Go now in Winter cause alot of drivers haul ### cause its so bad there in winter time. Now is the best time to find work there. Tx and Ok weather is great but whats the use when you only make 190 to 250 realistically per day. 300 is the max I ve seen anyone make here realistically. Alot of S** talkers in the oil field claiming to make alot of money done here but me being here and seeing it first hand? 190 to 250 per day is the norm. in ND 400 to 550 per day is the lower norm. Hope this helps.

Well, it is illegal for a US company to consider national origin when evaluating a potential candidate for employment. So naturally I would assume that there are Asians that work in the oil fields.

    Hello, All.
After reading a post concerning the Texas oilfields I wanted to give my two cents.
I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia. I have been in Odessa, Texas since January 22 of this year 2012.
I have been hauling crude oil every since 01/23/2012 and I have made no less than $300 per day @ $100 per load doing 3 loads per day minimum in 12 1/2 hours in the beginning. I became a lead driver and got bumped to $125 per load and moved up to $375 minimum per day.
Yes, the money does not compare to ND, but it equals out because of access to housing, bearable weather, and consistency. There are a always going to be "bad apples" in any industry, some more than others, but proper research and patience will always benefit.

Last I heard it was next to impossible to find housing out there, has that changed at all? Also, (maybe I missed it) how much xp is needed?
