You know I bet you can get away with a lot pulling that trailer. If you're weaving all over the road or run over a car, most people would just dismiss it as just being a swift driver instead of a drunk driver.![]()

While I could be considered a jail house lawyer, I did attend the LEO course in Florida. LEO as compared to the CO course here in Florida. When I attended the LEO Basic Course in the late 90's and I want to clarify here that I am not working as a LEO and have not for worked for a Police Dept for quite some time. In Florida you can use pepper spray to defend yourself but you better have a good reason for using it such as assault. Assault is considered any action verbal or otherwise that you made you feel threatened. HOWEVER, proving that you felt threatened without witnesses can get you in BIG TROUBLE. If you are in your vehicle it is easier to prove. If you go to that truck and he threatens you then it depends on the officer and DA. Just my .02 cents.

Well guys we have some d**k heads like that in OZ as well but not a lot thank god! I have come across it once and after about 10mins of waiting and getting pretty pissed off, I went up to the guy in his truck and said mate are you ok? he just smiled at me and said yep, so i said whats going on and he ignored me, so i said get the ###### out of the way and move your truck, and he did. what a F**cking as*hole
formertaxidriver and ac120 Thank this. -
I don't hit many docks. The biggest problems I run into is contractors working on something in the plant who park their pickup anywhere they feel like. Have to ask someone to move a car pretty regularly.
Truck Driver Thanks this. -
In 10 years OTR, I never had/heard/saw a problem, either -- at a dock or at a truckstop. Maybe I lived a sheltered trucking life. Sure, there was the occasional driver in a fuel lane, but that was it, and I can't recall a single jerk. Sometimes, you just have to park where you have to park for a few minutes -- on a street, in a vacant lot, in front of a dock, particularly if you've never been to a place before. Sometimes, the other guy does too. Most drivers get it.
Hey, OP! Step back in here! -
And I'm not a truckstop lawyer, and did a LOT more than attend a police course - no offense to the LOE course attendee. -
Then I went inside & got a hold of the shipper. He comes out, saw how the guy was parked, talked to him for a few minutes then told him to never come back there again.

It's not a secret that some shippers/receivers don't like drivers... it's funny to use that to your advantage. Like the situation described above, in my experience, a warehouse workers gets a serious thrill out of telling a driver what's up...

None taken. I did work for a LE agency for two years. Haven't worked for a Police Dept. here in Florida since the 90's. Just letting you know how it is here in Florida. I am not trying to get under any ones skin or offend anyone.
