Hey Boys,
Wanted to get a better understanding of how electornic logs worked. If you use PeopleNet or QuailComm or some other provider, what does the screen show when you are driving? Do you pay attention to it at all or do you just keep your eyes on the road?
Would love to hear your answers.
Thanks,
Rachel <3

Before I retired the company I worked for used the XATA systems...it showed the time , your speed , your hours worked for that day , and your available hours for your 70. But , that was in 2011...I'm sure the technology has improved a lot since then. but , to answer your question , the only time my eyes were on the computer screen was when I stopped...... never looked away from the road , except to check my mirrors.

While you're driving the QUALCOMM will say I think vehicle in motion. There is no way to see your status while driving same with peoplenet.Companies have it set up that way because otherwise it can be a huge distraction while driving and trying to read it.

We use LoadTrek. This is what the display looks like. It dims after 5 mins so I don't see anything.

There's always signal with QUALCOMM companies make sure of that. You could be in the middle of nowhere and don't have phone signal but by golly the quallcomm works just fine.Quallcomm tells you what line you're on the available hrs you have left your, messages ect ect, well you can't read any of that while driving.Dispatchers leave messages while driving and doesn't matter what button you push as long as the vehicle is in motion you cant read the QUALCOMM.You'll see nothing but a blank screen till you're stopped.

I had bluetree with hyle, very simple and basic. But far as checking your logs or anything pertaining to trucking you cant look at nothing far as peoplenet, youre right, doesnt make since you cant see your logs but can get online,a real genius who came up with that idea.

It's all in how the company sets it up.
You can even send msg while driving (Teams)
I would think most companies have it disabled UNLESS you're Teaming/Training.
I wish I could at least see the Summary Screen with all of the Clocks while I'm driving.
8/11/14/70.
I bet that could be enabled.
