    Swift driver,
    Where's you're home terminal?
    What's it like?
What can we as new driver expect there?
What's the good, the bad, and the ugly?
    Do you like it?

I am happy with Swift. Terminal is Syracuse, NY. Very personable. They waste no time and get it done. I've seen it once for three days of orientation and haven't had a need to return. The luxury of having a dedicated account.

Because I had a lot of experience, (i pulled a milk tanker for a decade), I stepped right into a dedicated account, ten minutes from my home and a drop yard with a mechanic and a kiosk is also ten minutes away. I really like my dedicated customer and my driver manager is awesome. Off weekends, high mileage (with guaranteed pay if you don't meet miles), great pay, no touch freight, great benefits and my unit is always parked in my yard!

I don't care what speed my truck goes, it's brand new! I don't care what name is on the side of the truck or trailer, I have 11 years driving experience and Swift fills all my needs. No one EVER calls me, I talk to no one but my customers, everything is electronic, checks are direct deposited into alloted accounts in the percentages I chose, I have never been shorted a single mile, I have a dashboard camera to cover my buttski and a great rider policy so my kids ride often. Could not ask for a better situation. Maybe not the best company, in the opinion of others, I don't care about that either.

Lucky maybe, my tractor runs like a charm and every trailer I've hooked to has not had a problem. Most are brand new. Perk of a dedicated account.

I have two boys 13 & 11, and I am home most nights, noon to midnight and weekends. Nuff said.

From what I hear, training with a Mentor (six weeks) is not much fun but you have to do it when you start out. Suck it up. Make the best of it and pick their brain. You will be a better driver/employee for it. Yes, some trainers suck, it's not Swifts fault. Ask for a new one. They are really turning things around, do they have issues, of course, work within the system and you will be left alone. DO your job properly and you will be left alone. That simple. You will not be rich, but you will be given everything you need to succeed, 99% of success is up to you. Good Luck. Holler any time.

Lewiston, ID. Love the terminal. Everyone that I have met, very friendly. Also the only terminal that I have been do that you actually do not have to go out through a security gate. Large dirt lot and you can find parking anywhere. Small truck stop within walking distance and great food, and a small Chinese place about a 15 min walk away, and gr8 food. Just ask my wife, who is Chinese. I think that when we have been there, they cook the food different for us, just like for her back home, in fact, the waitress is from her home city.

Lewiston as well even though I live 20 miles from the Phoenix beehive.

I second what Squeak said about the Lewiston.

What he didn't mention is the place is a B I T C H to get out of going north bound with a heavy truck.

For the most part, it is okay. Parking can be a real B I T C H, especially on weekends. I have met some people that seem that could care less, and met some very friendly people, and I am talking about the t-call window. The ones that I have met in the shop have all been great.

Steve, I really did not mention to forget it, I was saving it. I just avoid going North from there, and the heavy loads. It is more fun comming South into Lewiston.
