Trucking isn’t just a full time job, it’s more of trying the keep your butt cheeks squeezed shut and making sure no one is able to shaft you 24/7.

Everyone’s out to get you and if you slip up? oh boy they line up.

 

How much are you writing off with the mowing company ....?

Like a new pickup etc....... you don’t have to answer. Just think about that too.

 

Store you mowing equipment, then after trucking for awhile and sure it's what you want, then consider selling it.

 

If a person cannot trip plan and execute their plan, they are not a truck driver. They are paid steeringwheelholders. They are the ones that make the average pay so low.

 

No, I haven't worked for Yellow/YRC. Many of those linehaul jobs are home several times a week and some even every day. I did work for a non-union refrigerated division of YRC for about 3 years and made decent money running coast to coast. The reason I quit was the division was sold to another trucking company and I found something better. YRC refrigerated was a good company or I wouldn't have stayed 3 years.
There's a driver on this forum that's going through one of their schools in California. There's several on this forum attending the school in various parts of the country.

ok here it is ...

while most say the water is fine, come on in, you get into the water only to discover it is full of sharks and piranhas.

If you are looking for money, can’t beat how easy it is to make $50k plus it is in this industry ... can even do it as steering wheel holder.

however

this is an industry where you deal with freight that moves at all hours of the night,

And it is one of the most dangerous jobs out there, even cops don’t have this much danger to deal with.
