You mean like when that shady inner city packing house unloads a pallet of brisket, and lets it sit on a room temp dock for an hour? Then they take the temp and try to make a claim because it is out of range?

I was a company driver, so that was between the trucking company and broker. I got paid to wait while they argued about it and if the pallet was rejected, got paid to take it somewhere else. If I was told to dump it, then I took it home.

Normal for some, not for others.
It lessens with experience, sometimes too much.

Personally I have found that being a little scared is a good thing.
After 11 years out here, I try to keep that scared feeling alive.
That feeling is the 'common sense' in driving a big rig.

Accidents occur often with drivers with around 5 years of experience because they lose that feeling.
They get too confident and become complacent in their driving, and then they make rookie mistakes.

Plan your time well enough to allow you to take the time to relax and do things safely, and that anxiety will be lower.

ill simply make the statement.. its easy to say.. breath and act like you dont give a ### whose sitting next to you.. i believe yyou will probably be more comfortable on the road w/o someone stepping on your head.. this industry is real and the implications of failure are real.. though failure is self precieved.. youll be fine

I'd say that's pretty worrisome for the other drivers on the road. Perhaps truck driving isn't the right for you sorry I'm not trying to be mean.

    Absolutely.

I've been hit twice this year so far and both were somewhere in the middle, not on the end.

But those end spots are nerve wracking watching all of those trucks go hauling around the corner.

You should be nervous enough to expect anything, but still be calm enough to react to it. Does that makes sense?
