Im not much, but I like to think I can still take some of these whipper snappers. If you are going to fight, you have to have a heart for it. And so it will be a force in your favor. I witnessed a few oldsters able to protect themselves when necessary and asked one he ok? Sure. When you get to where I am pain is not a problem anymore. In those days you could take medicine or drink prior to the CDL Years.
But I do not have any illusions due to advancing age. It's a destructive process as far as I am concerned. -
Agreed wholeheartedly.
Mountains are to truckers like electricity is to electricians. When you don’t respect it, it kills you. -
Sounds like you've never experienced driving an old truck without a Jake

What kind of BS company, in 2022, is specing trucks without jakes? And then sending their drivers through the mountains, no less.

Companies who operate in the flat lands. I got hired by prairie carrier to run in NW Ontario, no Jake’s and was running nickel ore on A-trains 140,000 gross 7% grades 5 miles long and this was only 25 years ago.
Not my truck, not my problem and i dont have to buy the brake hardware
