I tend to stick to these rules, they've kept me out of trouble while I've watched others fail. FB_IMG_1609161506664.jpg

Around 10 days ago I was in Oklahoma on I-40 heading east when a cloud burst came out of nowhere. Winds blowing at what felt like around 70 mph and buckets of rain blowing right to left. I was loaded and going about 10 mph on the shoulder with my 4 ways on, and my trailer tilted up on 2 wheels a couple times while I was practically sitting still. I only had around 20,000 in the box, but the wind was strong enough to almost blow me over. Had I been empty, I have no doubt I would have blown over. Had my son with me and told him to get ready to get out. It was the closest I had ever come to going over and I have driven I-80 across Wyoming quite a few times in high wind conditions.

The sustained were not bad. It's the gusts you have to worry about.
