Blind driver, what kind of truck/trailer did you end up with? where are you mostly going to be running?

I got the last truck available. A Columbia in decent condition. with a 53' flat. I'll eventually get a nicer truck as drivers leave.

I'll drive anywhere where it isn't too cold :biggrin_25514: It's coooooold up North :biggrin_25521:

I think I'll stay South-East and try to get home every 10 days or so.

I was warned to get a load assigned by Friday afternoon before my coordinator leaves. I don't understand why there can't be weekend coordinators available.

    Logan76 Thanks this.

Blind driver: they don't have weekend dispatch because they rarely have loads to pickup on the weekends. There is however a weekend dispatcher to take loaded calls, just won't dispatch loads.
Now some agents will set you up on loads on Sat. if you can get ahold of them.

Two days ago I was loading new chains, tarps and binders when I noticed the owner looking at me working. I was wondering what I was doing wrong:biggrin_25526:

He asked me if I ever drove a auto before. Then he mentioned the big red Pete 387 in the shop was available with a step deck that was already loaded and ready to work. The driver had quit a few days ago.

Looks like I got a promotion before my first load :biggrin_2559:

Got my first load a few minutes ago. Deadheading 120 miles, then off to Wisconsin. Then 70 mile deadhead and grabbing a truck in Oshkosh to Ft. Dix. I hoping to run over the weekend :biggrin_255:

    In the middle or so.

I have already packed my big girl flannel panties. It's supposed to be 1* up there Friday. Brrrrrrr. I try not to put my tongue on a light pole :biggrin_25522:

The load for today was canceled. Rescheduled for Monday. So much for running the weekend.
