So do you strictly work for a racing team? I’ve heard of guys hauling for singers taking their band equipment around, attending free concerts, making extremely good money. I was just curious if that is how it is in the racing scene. Although, I would imagine not as many races going on as concerts.
Driving for a Racing team anyone have this experience ?

I knew a driver who did it for one season for a NASCAR team. He went back to driving a bull wagon.
That’s all I needed to know.LoneRanger and JMon Thank this. -
Some observations:
I worked for a couple of teams over 13 years on the IMSA/ sportscar side.
It's really interesting if you're into cars.
If it's a salary position make sure that you get enough to cover the long days you WILL have.
Is there a per diem or do they cover meals?
Probably have to share a room.
Usually the truck driver does fuel or tires while at the track. (Sometimes cooks)

It all depends on the schedule they're running and how much time he has to get from track to track, but it's something that needs to be considered. -
It would be a great way to get in shape. Seen the NASCAR dudes they team or have three drivers so they can keep rolling to testing, races etc. Or they have one driver for the race rig. When he gets near racetrack he takes the rig to streakin beacon and gets it washed. Then he has to get in the track and get so close to the rig next to him talk about pressure. Then for alot of them they become KP and first get the meal list and head to the grocery store to get groceries for the the race weekend. Then they get back and start setting everything up like the awning, helping to get the raceway off the hauler, helping set up hospitality tent if needed. You will definitely get your steps in unlike bumping docks.

I looked “a little” in to nascar
Not enough to give sound advice but it seemed it was low money for the year and you’re sorta locked into them for the race season like you can’t go run stuff in between
Seemed more for a retired guy or PT
I knew a guy who worked the shows. Like big convention type where semi trailers were a store or display
He made $$ and if it was a long week or more show they would fly him home or his wife to the showJMon Thanks this. -
They just called me and we agreed I would come to COTA and work with them for a couple of days to see if its something I'm interested in pursuing . I think its GT racing , either way its a experience I can add to my book of life .
Elroythekid, homeskillet, baha and 5 others Thank this.
