Driving In The Military

I am sitting in Boise getting ready to send the boy to Great Lakes in the morning— he has a guaranteed A school and if he graduates, a guaranteed rate —AME — looking forward to hear his modern day sea stories

 

I thought every Marine was a guaranteed to be a Rifleman

 

Congrats for your son and you. That was my original point...he is guaranteed his rating as long as he passes his schooling. Encourage him all you can, and I appreciate military families too...they also serve.

 

Hong Kong was and is my favorite. This photo is of a Chinese Junk. An officer on the ship bought one for $5000.00 and the people he bought it from delivered it to California. Never get away with that these days.

 

Nope..lots of stuff we did in foreign ports would never float today. But nobody can take away those memories and history.

 

I did my time — it’s all about him now. I learned that only 4% of the kids go in now days — unbelievable. Bought every new recruit their dinner tonight, regardless of the service they are going into. That’s my job now.

I still get to live it often; own a condo in China, nice 4 bedroom 2 bath condo. It's close to the action and just as wild as the old days. You know; some of us never grow up and take life too seriously. I do try, but not too hard.

 

I can't imagine going back....uhhh..yes I can, just haven't. Good on you! Sounds like we could compare Sea stories for days.
