    Hello Everyone. :biggrin_25511:

I had the pleasure to meet TTR member Buffalo644, completely by accident, when I was parked for the night at our Springfield, OH terminal. I happened to start a conversation with him and we were chatting for quite a while. When I made a reference to my hearing aid, as I seem to do much too often, he put 2 and 2 together and figured out who I was. That's a first for me. I also met his co-driver the next day before I left on my run to NC.

Buffalo644, I'm glad we had a chance to hang out for a while. Maybe next time we'll have more time to talk. Stay safe out there, driver.

Sammycat, he used to live up in Buffalo, so if you see he's in your neck of the woods, buy him a coffee for me.:yes2557:

    Update:

This week pay settlement shows only 1414 miles.......but.........I was on the Kroger Dedicated account for 6 days, so the miles I drove for that account are not reflected in my weekly mileage. My pay (which, btw, was one of the biggest I've had since I've been with USX) was converted into 2 segments: a day rate, and stop pay. However, I did calculate one of my trips, which was a 1 stop hop from Delaware, OH to Clinton, MI and back, and it seems the CPM is about .49. That is impressive. I'll be inquiring about the possibility of switching to that fleet, but I have a feeling that account may be reserved for the day cab guys and gals. I will update you when I have more information.

    Trip info update:

When I finished the Kroger assignment, I was dispatched from Columbus, OH to Lansing, MI with a 4 stop Coca Cola run. The miles for that dispatch were only 281, but the stop pay makes up for the difference. All the stops were within 15 minutes of each other. 3 stops at DC's and the final at Michigan State University.

Later that afternoon, I was dispatched on a paperload from Battlecreek, MI to Conover, NC. I showed up 4 hours early for my delivery appointment, and the gentleman was kind enough to unload me right away. I equate that to the parking space angels.

So right now I'm dispatched north again, on a run from Greensboro, NC to Edison, NJ. This run has good miles (579) but doesn't deliver until Monday. I'm not thrilled with that, so tomorrow I'll request an earlier delivery appointment, or possibly a drop or repower so I can keep moving.

    That's it for now.

    Thanks for reading.

Hey, Wedge, I also met Buffalo in Springfield at the same time(well, the next day). He told me he had met up with you. Sorry I missed you. I didn't even come to the terminal at all over the weekend. I was lounging in the hotel with all of 5 channels to watch. Thank heavens for my laptop! I did head over to Rudy's Smokehouse for some awesome cooking on Monday, though. That was just about the only time I set foot out of my room.

Too bad I missed you. Showing up at Springfield was a last minute thing. I was dispatched on a load the next day and needed an empty.

I may have to try Rudy's if the food's that good.

Were you waiting on your truck to be repaired?

I get those all the time. It's the delivery appointment time that usually matters.

Speaking of terminals, I'm sitting in our Shippenburg, PA terminal tonight with a load that delivers in Edison, NJ on Monday. I had a trailer light that needed repair, and with next week being the nutty week for the DOT boys and girls, I wanted it fixed before I started heading back south for my home time.

I'll get a 34 reset out of this run.

Guess I'm sleeping in late tomorrow. :yes2557:

No, I was waiting to upgrade. We didn't get in early enough on Friday for me to get done, so I had to wait all weekend! Loved the down time, though. Now I'm waiting at home to find out who my team partner is. If they don't find me someone, I think I'm going to insist they send me out solo. I can't afford not to be working!

Glad I found this thread I'm just about finished with school and usx is my main choice, however I was uncertian as I heard most from the recruiter and was worried it may have been blown sunshine even though the recruiter had actually left employment from my school to work for usx.

Reading this seems it is a reputable company and I will be persuing a job with usx right from school thanks op for keeping us in the know and maybe ill see yall out on the road shortly

I'll be interested to know what happens if they have trouble finding you a co-driver. If they find someone at another terminal, my guess is they will route one of you to meet the other.

Keep me updated on how that shakes out. It's possible that others may be in the same boat.
