and they didn't even fire him for it (says something about them doesn't it...) just wanted him to pay the cost of the 500 mile joy ride he went on

Remember, the ONLY side of the story we have heard is HIS side. They may have actually fired him and he is lying about it. Who knows, reality is not his strong suit.

I have found that many people mistake superior people skills for butt kissing.

I have no great love for USX, but during my short time there I never got the feeling that USX as a company was out to screw a driver over. Actually I felt like USX would go to any reasonable lengths to accommodate a driver. Unfortunately because USX is so poorly managed a driver might be waiting a while for that accommodation. If USX tightened up their management, streamlined a few processes, and increased oversight I think they would be a top flight company. Right now I would give USX a C+ grade- they are not perfect but they are solid.

I would say that US Xpress is disorganized. The FMs have too many drivers under them. Its not easy to get someone on the phone. When someone does answer the phone.....some of these people are rude. Office people seem stressed out. I've complained to the company but it seems it goes in one ear & out the other.

Max Fuller needs to get out of his office & take a look. The company has potential to be a great company but I think it has poorly trained people in Chattanooga, TN.

he picked up a preloaded trailer (unsealed) they gave him a seal to seal it, never looked inside the trailer, he just sealed it and ran 500 miles when he went to del found out the trailer was empty.....!!!

because he didn't check to see if it was loaded (didn't even open the doors to see how it was loaded) and i guess he couldn't tell it was empty buy the way it pulled (most drivers can tell if a trailer is loaded but the way they pull)

all usx wanted him to do was pay the expence (fuel and what not) for taking a empty trailer for what amounted to a 500 miles joy ride, and they didn't even want it all at 1 time, they were willing to do payments but NO he had to quit because he somehow thinks he didn't do ANYTHING wrong.....

Yikes ! He should have looked. At the very least to make sure nothing is damaged.

Funny that they wanted him to pay. They've had me drive around looking for an emty & never got paid for it. Some of these times have gone over 100 + miles.

    I'll never understand USX

I have never looked for an empty for free. When they told me to go somewhere fo get an empty, I would just tell them to send me a route solution before I would move. Got paid every time. It is all about managing the process and your relationship

they have a rule "not to move until you have been routed" so as a company driver the truck didn't move (unless i wanted to) before i was routed (MT moved) to do a trailer hunt that way i always got paid.... they (like most companies) just hate it when you use their rules

Always request an empty move. You will know if you been empty moved by receiving a route and fuel solution.
