Hello There.
Sorry for my absence but I switched over to nights, and for some reason the only thing I want to do when I stop driving is sleep.
I'm having a little trouble getting oriented to this new Forum upgrade. I'm sure it's just a matter of working with it before it becomes second nature.
But if I went much longer trying to figure how to access my subscriptions, I think my head would have exploded.
OK. Last week's settlement sheet a dismal 1587. The last trip I made to Ohio didn't make it to payroll in time, so that will be applied to this weeks total. What isn't reflected in the miles is the stop pay which makes the paycheck at least tolerable. Losing that run 600 mile run because of the delay at the shipper was the real killer, but that's the way it goes sometimes.
Now making the switch to nights this week will also cost me something, just not sure how much.
The run I'm on now is 1076 miles which picked up in Pineville, LA and delivers to Lima, OH. It was a 2100 live load, and is supposed to be D&H at the receiver about 2 hours away from our Sprinfield, OH terminal. Order info says 2100 delivery, but I'm going to run this one in early.
Well, my hours are back so I've got to get ready to roll out.
I'll check back in later and learn to work my way round this site.............I hope.
Thanks for reading.

Hey wedge. Great post. Noticed your age and possible health issue; however remote. If you are having BP issues you may want to check out sodium content on those ready to go meals. One item may contain 3/4 of your daily allowance. Nothin' like a black cloud huh?
Wedge Thanks this. -
Hey Wedge!
Don't worry we are all trying to navigate the ''new'' TTR!!! In time as you say, we will all get used to it!!
Sorry you didn't get miles last week ugh. You seem to go to Ohio alot ( I'm sorry LOL nahhh but that is where Dave is from and he is soooo glad to be in NY now!!)
Saw a USX this morning who does the Dollar Tree and the poor guy ( Dave actually was there on his way to work) was having a heck of a time trying to navigate this tiny lot with a dumpster in it on a side street where he had to back into the dock!!! PITA and you just know all the 4 wheelers were peeing and moaning since it was early morning drive time to work!!! On top of that the guy is lumping the load and it is HOT here today!!!
Keep up the posts and hopefully you get back on days soon!!
Be SAFE this Memorial Day weekend the CRAZY people are all out there driving!!!!!Wedge Thanks this. -
Hey Crusty
BP is not an issue for me. And you're right. Many of those meals have a ton of sodium. Right now I'm trying differnt ones to see which ones I like.
My problem is I'm not a big eater when I'm on the road, so sometimes making a meal in the micro can be a PITA. I prefer to pick at different things during the day, and save the hot meal for when I've got the time. Lately I've been in scramble mode running in a different fleet for the last 6 days.
But I'll tell you what......being able to have a bag of popcorn while I'm watching a movie is great. -
This new format is going to take time. I've been real busy for the last week.
I'm on the Kroger Dedicated account in Delaware, OH. Been running this for the last 6 days. I need to update evryone but it's gonna have to wait another day. I need to get some serious rack time. I'm exhausted.
Just stopped in to say howdy. -

Hello There.
First and foremost.
On this Memorial Day, I wish to extend my gratitude to all of the men and women who serve our country in the armed forces, to those who have been wounded in battle, and to those who have sacrificed their lives to protect what we hold dear. All of us owe you more than we can repay. You are always in our thoughts and prayers. May God shine his light upon you as you go forth to preserve and protect our life of justice and freedom.
God bless you and keep you.
Update:
Last week: 2,178 miles. The 1,076 mile run I had from Pineville, LA to Lima, OH didn't make it to payroll in time, so in all, even though the miles are lower than I'd prefer, that 1000 mile run will get applied to this weeks settlement sheet. A good start to this week, I'd say.
After I dropped that load in Lima, USX assigned me to our Kroger Dedicated account out of Delaware, OH. I've been running on that for the last 6 days. IMO, it's a great fleet. I've been running mostly refer, and delivering to Kroger stores in OH and MI. Some trips have multiple stops (paid). USX has a big presence here. Lots of daycabs permanently reside here, and there is a dispatcher on-site, similar to Tractor Supply DC in Hagerstown, MD. When you work this account, all the trailers are pre-loaded, both dry van and refer. You can scale out right on-site, and if you are over weight in any manner, you're given priority to pull up to a dedicated dock to have the load re-organized so that you can make weight without any problems. And before you leave, you take your whole rig through an automated truck wash. This truck has never been washed since I recovered it last year. This week it's been washed 5 times. And one more little perk...........you can break on-site......oh yeah.
This was a great assignment and I'd be happy to help out again. The holiday surge is over and I'm going back to the OTR fleet. I'm waiting on dispatch for an assignment.
Tell me I'm not the only one.
As is the case when you drive OTR, in the morning most of us (me anyway) have to make use of the restroom. Sometimes it's required to have a seat while..............how should I say this...........completing transactions 'seeing a man about a horse'....lol.......I'm sure you get my meaning. Anyway, while I''m sitting, I notice that the front cover of the bathroom tissue dispenser is missing, exposing the 2 rolls of paper, but properly threaded, and ready for use. I didn't give it a second thought as I've seen dispensers like these in all conditions, needing required maintenance of some kind.
Well, once I had completed my........'morning glory'.....I reach to the dispenser, grabbed the tissue, gave it firm yank to retrieve my portion of paper, and the entire roll comes flying off of the spindle, hits my knee, lands on the floor, and shoots out of the stall to the far side of the bathroom where it hits the wall and finally stops.I look through the crack of the stall door and I can see that the roll was still upright. As I tried to reel it in, the roll just spun in place, dispensing me more, as if I didn't already have enough paper to deal with.
Just as I was about to tear off a length of paper and try my luck with roll #2, someone comes into the bathroom.........figures. All of a sudden, I see this hand protruding under the stall door handing me my renegade roll of paper. "Thanks." I say, but there was no response. I emerged from my cubicle to find an empty restroom, saved from the embarrassment of a face to face.
I exited the mens room, no one in sight, and quickly headed out to my truck. What a beginning for my first full day with Kroger.
Is there a moral to this?
None I can think of. It's just one of those events I apply sayings to such as:
"Some days your the windshield, other days, your the bug."
This was starting out as a bug day.
Thanks for reading.

LMAO, too funny Wedge, happy Memorial Day and be safe.
