20 years is a long time. I "trained" a guy who was out of it for a couple years. He only had to do 50 hrs.

wow....Wedge and you were doing so well for a while!
that just bites as I know it really cuts into your miles/pay!
I am hoping that it works out and that the problem gets fixed or you get a new truck! ??#4 would that make it? Snowball, Christine, I can't remember them now -
sammycat Thanks this.

This last breakdown turned out to be directly related to the previous repair, 12 days prior. A valve in the DEF system was coated with sealant and it should'nt have. So I was out of the shop in a day, but down for 3 waiting my turn, plus I lost a good load to PA.
I'm very stubborn when it comes to this truck. The repairs that have been done are directly related to miles, and trainee abuse. This was a trainers truck. All of the repairs done so far I've welcomed, well, except that I'm not getting paid anything other than break-down pay. With the exception of the DEF/ Check Engine light scenario, it's a great truck.
They offered me another truck, but I really don't want to give it up unless they make me. It would be like starting from scratch all over again: A new truck with un-kmown problems. At least with this truck I know where I stand
I have no regrets coming on board with USX. They are a good company, but they are big. You have to be willing to cope with that. I don't find it a problem because I've learned how to work the system to my advantage. Miles are always there.
I tend to stay out on the road more than most. 4-6 weeks is my norm. I'll take off between 4 and 6 days at a time when I go home. Maybe one day I'll switch to a dedicated account, but for now OTR suits me fine.
If you go with USX, put in your time, get a good FM, you shouldn't have a problem. It sounds like you have some experience and that's what USX needs, experienced drivers.
Sorry I took so long to get back to you. I've been trying to make up for lost time so I've basically been driving and sleeping.....lol. -
Np "Wedge" If you take time to answer... You're making money driving... Not spending time on here.
God bless and be safe out there.

Hello There.
Scramble, Scramble Scramble.....I hate making up for lost time.
I'm getting down to the wire. My DOT physical is due and I have a doctor's appointment that I must keep on Friday. Originally I was scheduled to see him in February, but I had to cancel because....
MY TRUCK BROKE DOWN!
Venting.......That felt great.
Anyway, I need to behome on Thursday night and have made this very clear to my FM so I don't see a problem............I shouldn't have said that...........Dang!
So I'm parked at my fuel stop in Waco, TX tonight, heading down to Laredo. A nice easy load that drops at the USX terminal.
So I should be able to get a load out Monday that will get me close to home by mid-week.
Hey, maybe I can get another one of Flood's auto loads to Tennessee.
Thanks for reading.

-
