I'm hoping to try my hand at driving a big truck in a couple of years (as soon as I finish financing my kid's college). To be honest, I've probably set some sort of world record on speeding tickets during my teens, 20's and 30's.
However for the past 5 years or so, I've been trying to clean up my driving record (Haven't had a ticket in three years now)... and driving habits... to get ready to give trucking a try.
But, in a rush to get somewhere this weekend, I overdid it and got another ticket (73 in a 55). The cop cut it down to 69 in a 55 so there's no points (Georgia), but it's still a ticket.
So what I'm wondering is just how far back do companies look on your driving record. I've heard mention of 3 years and I've heard 5 years. Do many companies look beyond that? If the ticket is zero points, do they count that against you?
...just wondering how bad I've shot myself in the foot.
Thanks!

The numbers are 3/7/10, minmum a employers is going to ask for is 3 years and thats normally what is held against you, you are normally ask for 7 year history when you apply for a driving job, DMV here in CA keep if showing for 10 years.

Thanks Powder and Chompi! Jeez... seven years... That really puts a damper on the evening. Does the zero point thing buy me any brownie points?
