Nope, they'll ask for all states you have held a CDL in.

Then the other tickets will pop up.

But they will hold you accountable on whats on your old license and not your current license. Thats crazy?

No...they hold you accountable for ALL. The only way around this issue, is to be a "new" driver. Who moved prior to getting a CDL. Then omit the previous state, once you get a regular license, then a CDL in the new state. (in that order)

While companies ask for license held in another state. This only becomes an issue for the CDL holder. They rarely check other states for infractions on your regular license.

And many states simply refuse to cooperate when request are made for other license held prior to a CDL. Unless you have authorized the search for that particular state.

The law mandates they have a full read out of your CDL history from all states. If you never held one in that state. The state does not have to comply with the request. They simply respond with, "No record found."

In your case, you will have to provide complete disclosure.

most applications, I think, will ask about other licenses you've had. They'll certainly ask about past residences.

Put down everything on your application. Not putting it down and having it turn up when they check your records makes the company think you are lying.

Things on your record are treated equally whether before or after CDL. You're not getting different opinions - Lurch stated that they will ask you about previous licenses - same thing. Get your abstract on your previous license. A CDL is almost considered federal, and all of your records are accessible. Don't leave anything out on an application. It will have a certain number of years listed that you are expected to go back on moving violations, etc. With DUI's, felonies, etc they don't care how long ago they were, they want to know.

Okay lilbit u were a big help. Now let me ask u this please. Are tickets like having custom plates on ur car or tinted windows considered moving violations. And is a ticket for unsafe driving(nonwillful) and turning without a signal considered major.

I don't believe the plate and the tinted windows would be a problem. They can be explained.

Unsafe driving would probably lead the company to pass over you rather quickly. An explanation might be needed to be attached to the application. Not using the turn signal is also an unsafe move under most companies.
