ok Im 22 and i have had some speeding tickets in the past I have 2 speeding tickets in the last three years. both out of state. I have 1 no insurance ticket from about 4 years ago. a bogus failure to stop and no headlights from when i was 17. none of my speeding tickets were insanely fast. most of them were 10 or less over. I was in a motorcycle accident that was not my fault. it was dark at night on a county road and i hit a tire in the road. that was nov 2009. is that on my record? One of my tickets from the 2 i have had in the last 3 years just disappeared and the other one i couldnt pay becuz of my injuries from my wreck so i got an administrative suspension until it was paid. i have paid that and my license is fine now. but whats weird is i got my driving record today and it is spotless!!! shows zero citations zero suspensions. its 100% clean.. so whats going on here? and can my driving record keep me from getting a job with Schneider? there website doesnt tell you a set number of citations in a set number of years. any info would be greatly appreciated.

to me you have very good driving records NOT!! but who cares if it's not on record your good to go don't even mention that to Schneider or get ready to explain exactly what happened. I'm sure Schneider will take u, usually some records get cleared after 3 years, but before u lie to Schneider make sure U know what your talking about, see your driving records and make sure it's not just for this year and if it's for 3 years it means your good to go just try to not hit tires lol just joking I know it's not your fault it's the tire fault Oops sorry again lol

Speaking as a former LEO, I can tell you the reason your speeding tickets don't show on your MVR is probably because they were so low over the speed limit. I know in GA, a speeding ticket does not show up on your MVR unless it is at least 15 over the speed limit. However, I would still tell SNI about them all and the accident as I don't know how far they go into the background check. I wouldn't worry about your driving record bothering them if that is all that you have as long as you are honest about it. They hired me and I had an accident in a patrol vehicle which they probably would've never found out about but I told them anyway to be on the safe side. They seem to be ok with most stuff as long as you are honest on your application. I wish you luck. This is just my opinion on the answer to your question, I hope it helps.

First, no offense, but that is a terrible record for a professional driver.

Second, yes it will, most likely bring your chances of getting a job down. You will have limited opportunity and not many good choices. I'd never say you won't get a driving job. You will need to go face to face and convince someone to give you a chance.

Third, in the eyes of the law, the motorcycle accident was your fault. Every state has a driving law on their books about being in control of your vehicle and driving at a speed with which you can control it under the driving conditions. Don't shoot the messenger and welcome to the way we do things as a professional driver.

Fourth, I wouldn't count on that clean record repeating itself when a trucking company checks. I hope it does for you.

And fifth, if you expect to be given a chance with a record like that, you will have to take full responsibity for each and every offense. This means the ones you don't understand are your fault as well as the ones you don't think are.

Welcome to the TTR forum and good luck.

Since it apperars you're new to the industry and the forum, I'll offer my standard copy and paste advice. Take it for what it's worth. You need to research and find out what the important questions are. You can make an above average living but you will make sacrifices that other jobs don't require. I want new people entering to find out what's going on and make a plan.

Read the "good companies" and "bad companies" section on this forum and get an idea of what company you want to work for and what kind of trailer you want to pull. Don't just go to school and then try to figure out where to go.

You need to look at your driving record and criminal record. Many don't take this into consideration and find out they can't get a job after school. The school likely won't mention this because they want your money.

I don't know your financial situation. Don't take training from a company if you can afford it or get it with financial aid. You will be their slave for up to year. If you leave they will trash you DAC and credit record.

Just know that training and trucking company recruiters will do nothing but lie to you. They will let you talk about what you want and then tell you what you want to hear. Trucking is about moving freight to make money for the company. Your home time, family, paycheck and everything else comes second.

It is not like any other job. Local is usually backbreaking delivery work 10+ hours a day, 6 days a week. Often you unload dozens of times a day or you are a salesman. In my area most dump truck jobs pay less than a good factory job. Regional is lots of loading and unloading time, fewer miles than OTR and not as hard as local but will wear on you and push your HOS limits. OTR is out 3 - 5 weeks with 3 - 4 days home, less manual labor and more miles.

You'll probably have to pay your dues before you get the gravy job. Weekends off, if you are lucky enough to get something like that starting out, may be home Thursday afternoon and leave Saturday night or home Friday night and leave Sunday afternoon. Loads deliver on Monday early and you leave in time to get them there. Often your home time will be in the middle of the week.

Regardless of your driving choice, after school you will go through company training. This can be six weeks to three months with little or no home time. The first phase is usually $400 a week and the second phase is $500-550 a week. Some pay less. One company pays 12 CPM for training.

thanks for the advice everyone. I know i have a chance of being gone for a long time but i love driving whether it be down the street or 1400 miles to houston. I dont want to be rich. I just want to make enough to pay my bills, and stay subscribed to netflix. lol:biggrin_25525:. I cant afford the local driving school even tho everyone in town is hiring for cdl drivers. mostly oil field stuff. i just want to re-start my life and leave my past behind, of course keeping the lessons ive learned as well

You should be able to get a job with someone, it may not be the most desireable or the best paying but as long as you stick with it and get some experience more doors will open, and with you living where you do you can make good money driving in the oil feilds from what I hear..

iv had a couple tickets several years ago for 3-8mph (yes i got a ticket for 3 over the limit 38 in a 35) over the limit that never showed up on my record i believe under most circumstances it has to be 10 over the limit before it goes on your record. accidents that are not your fault sometimes show up sometimes they don't i also belive a accident has to have a damage amount over a certain amount of money before it becomes reportable. i also had a minor fender bender in a pickup pulling a trailer when a lady cut me off and then immediately slammed on the breaks to make a right hand turn, we both had minimal damage i had a bent license plate she had a couple scratches on her bumper, it was deemed my fault as i rear ended her (witch i think is bs) so my insurance paid out on it but it was not reported on my driving record. i have only had 1 ticket in the last 3 years for riding a motorcycle without a motorcycle endorsement that is 1 month away from falling off my record. but the couple incidents i mentioned are the only other incidents iv had and none of them other than the endorsement ticket were ever reported on my record.

edit. although the minor accident was not reported on my driving record, insurance company's do share information. although its now past 5 years old it did affect my insurance for a while, my insurance went up 20 dollars a month for the cost of repainting a bumper (what a rip off)
