Yesterday we started running the qualitfiing routes. These are a 30 out route and a 30 min in route, you must do both. I got 5 X marks on my first run, not that bad compaired to other students I talked to. I missed a couple of shifts, did not call my mirrors out one time. Just things I need to adjust, we have like 15-20 more runs on these routes before the end.

2nd day of qualifying pratice runs. I did much better today, I only recived 2 x marks on one and 1 x mark on the second run.

5 x's isn't too bad for a first run....i got 3 on my first run.....was really irritated about it too lol.....some of the others came back in with a page full of them though
you sound like you'll do well....we had more than a few folks that didn't even qualify on at least one course until the last day on the last ride
enjoy these days running around mocksville hehehe once you get out here and spend a little time off the big road in the northeast in jersey, ny, ct, mass and points north or running some of the 2 lane mountain goat paths in west virginia, ohio and Pa you'll be wishing to be back on the superhighways around mocksville.....lol....because that's what they'll seem like compared to some of the roads in your future haha
it's more than half over already isn't it? going alot faster than the waiting to get there huh? -
well i'm jealous of both of you guys. i got 5 on my first run thursday, 6 on my second.

Well we are in the 5th week of the 8 week program. It has gone much faster than I thought I would, and we are doing things that in the begaining I myself thought we could never do. Most are looking at what area of truck driving they want to go into, like vans flatbed tankers and so on. The program instructor has done a good job of bringing a good mix of recruters in.
Oberall my impression of the Davidson County Community College (DCCC) school is very good and I highly recomend it to anyone. -

Moving along
6 or so guys have qualified on one of the two routes that we all must do, and one guy qualified on both. I'm still drawing a blank, but tomorrow is a new day.
But as soon as the first person qualifies, you can feel the tension ratchet up a couple of notches on the rest of us. -
I use to live up there, have you guys ran 64 east into town and turned right on 6O1 south?? That turn will make a real truck driver out of ya..... LOL

With only 9 days felt to meet the road qualify and 3/4 of the class not qualified nearve are showing, myself included. Yesterday I was making the "In" route, and it was going great when I came to a downhill intercetion and tried to catch 4th gear. Well with the downhill I missed the speed-RPM due to the truck speeding up and I scraped 4th. Well that was it the whole run was over. After that I made the all the rest of the run great in town turns and all. But that one scrape killed me. They are a 100% or nothing school in road driving testing, it's "0" mistakes or nothing. The inststructor has a sheet with 20 or so items and if you get 1x out of the 20 your out. DANG IT!! If I would have just waited for that light instead of trying to catch that 4th.

how'd you do on that test today? i got all except the bonus, and i could kick myself for that. i answered in too big a hurry.
the question, for others, was this. You're driving between salt lake city, ut and boise, id. you discover that I-84 is closed from burley, id to glenns ferry, id. route around it.
i put jump off on US-30. wrong.
