Hello all
I went to TDDS in Lake Milton, OH, and I got called for a good job in Columbus, and what I want to know is Since I have three months to decline or accept the job offer (Family business), If i drove for say three months or 2 months and decide i might take my cousins offer, and the job sucked, and I said, im going back to trucking, Do i have to do cdl school all over? and will a otr company still pick me up with just 2 or three months otr?

Companies have different rules. In your case most will probably require you to do a refresher course with them. Keep your CDL current. If you drive before working for your cousin; leave the trucking company on good terms and with a proper 2 week notice, if you don't, this will come back to haunt you should you decide to return to trucking, not just with the company you left , but with any company you apply to.

a refresher course?
Does financial aid cover that, or is that out of pocket.. and i wonder how long it is.. if it;s like 2 weeks thats cool -
because i might decide to start trucking, and say.. hey i want to go back to college.. (playing devils advocate), and then try to go ltl while in school.. because you cant go to college and be an otr driver..

Companies are different. With some it may be as simple as putting a trainer with you for a couple of weeks.

oh i see.. and then other companies will want a full on school..
thank you very much -
refresher course at school i went to was one week $1000 40 hours

I didnt graduate from TDDS per say, i just got the cdl.. because part of the graduation is finding a company and training. and i didnt complete that because of the job offer i recieved... so I dont even know if a company will still take me

Did you get a certificate?
Swift might take you with a cdl. I know when I got started they offered me to go out with a trainer for four weeks, no cdl school required. No refresher course required either. I've had my cdl since 20 yrs old taught myself to pass the test. Now this was 5 yrs ago their policy may have changed.
Going ltl without being s recent grad or having experience will be difficult, unless you started on the dock or as s yard jockey and put some time in. Just my 2 cents and experience.
