Have a driving test with doubles tomorrow. never driven with doubles before, its for oil hauling and has a pup in the back. Any tips and tricks? Most of my driving is with a tank wagon, though I do have some experience with a normal tanker truck 13 speed.

All i can say is - its not nearly as bad as i thought it was going to be, that rear pup tracks really good.........if you're used to pulling a 53' you'll be fine....
im sure there are vets on here that have pulled doubles for years that can actually offer some real advice, i just figured i'd chime in because the same scenario just happened to me (minus the tank part)
good luck -
Don't sweat it. Doubles are easy. Don't have to swing as wide when turning. And don't worry about that pull trailer. It'll follow the semi trailer.

I like doubles, it might seem like your going to run over the sidewalk when your taking a corner, but you wont haha

piece of cake to do.... don't panic

Yeah, just hope you don't show up and see a power unit sitting over there and 2 pups sitting over here and a con gear somewhere tucked away and the tester say put a set together Son, and we'll get your roadtest going.

I pulled UPS sets before Christmas this year. Pulling them is super easy and you won't believe how maneuverable they are. The JAX hub was jammed with trailers and I was able to wiggle around in there with my big Western Star that I couldn't have done with a 48'. You have to think though so you don't get in a jam and have to back up. I split a set the first day. It's not hard if you have someone showing which valves and such to close. A single dolly is manageable if you're in decent shape. Good luck
