That's all wonderful. But it's not Swift policy for company drivers , nor is line 5 available to Swift company drivers.

This is the Swift forum, and about how Swift does things.
What is done at other companies does not matter here.
As a company driver I do not have the option of driving off duty. The QC simply does not allow it.
I could log off to try and get around it, but it would be noticed and corrected in a very few minutes.
I know, because I have tried.
And if it such a big deal with someone, they can always find a job elsewhere.
No one is forced to work for any company. -

You better talk to your DM first before doing anything. AND yes be prepared to camp in the truck, after all that is what that luxury is for. Your comfort.
There was a time in my day Bobtails were personal transport and we carried a card to that effect. No logs no nothing. Just go. 3 states over? Sure why not, don't be late with that load. That was actually how I got engaged to my exspouse, I drove bobtail overnight to Texas to get the rings and was on her hand the sunrise the next day here in Arkansas. Sweet. She could have said no LOL. Then Seattle in 3 days due.. ugh. The fuel? My pocket cash, they can fight over the mileage total in the states at tax time.
Such freedom. And to lose it now over some distrustful wrinkled prune wanting to cut costs. I would not be happy. And don't think it's about that.
