Maybe tow hooks is not a good name for them, because they are not used for towing a truck, just dragging them. lol

Two companies I worked for told us not to remove them, so I didn't. They were OTR companies.

I always wondered why I would see a mega truck with tow hooks in... They need to get pulled out that often? Ouch, something isn't right.

DOT is not God. They don't have a say in everything.

How would leaving a pull hook in a bumper be unsafe?

What makes that a WTF move?

I guess if you're buried in the mud up to the frame, it's easier on the wrecker.
The places I worked they had hangers on the truck frame, just behind the sleeper to store them, but a couple companies had them on the front and told us to leave them there.

some of those hooks are a real pain to unbolt.

no reaching under and pulling the pin. it's crawl under with a wrench and unbolt the sucker.

When I was working in Minnesota, we left our hooks on all the time because getting stuck in the ice or muck was a regular occurrence.

He was probably walking in front of someone's truck and rapped his shin on one...

Why doesn’t anyone ever remove the oversized load banners when they’re empty?
I always thought I’d theyre too lazy to remove the sign then they probably aren’t doing to good a job chaining the stuff down either.

Who cares about a tow hook?
