The 1693 is only as good as the rear ends.
My w900 didn't come with 4wd. Only 2wd. Stupid setup too. If you only gonna have 2. At least make it the differential lock. And not the axle lock.
Mine never come out. It gets used quite often. And who wants to crawl around in the mud installing hook and then chaining up??
FL has a nice setup though. Insert sideways and twist 90 degrees.
Lately I've been using my trailer bumper to be pushed though. Yes. It can handle it. Very well designed. It even has a U shaped rebar welded through the bumper and will handle being pulled from behind fully loaded at 100k.
I've been very impressed with that bumper
Driving with tow hooks still in bumper? WTH

I saw a poor dog get hit by those spikes, it didn't kill the dog but it messed her up pretty bad.
The pos driver knew he hit the dog and didn't stop. A bunch of us did stop to see what we could so, and take care of the dog.
One of the ladies stop was a surgical nurse and stopped a lot of the bleeding, I gave her my trauma kit out of my truck and with others help got the dog into her Tahoe. Two people went with her to the emergency vet, I offered to pay the cost and gave two of them my card. I did pay the bill, the vet tracked down the owner and the dog was returned to her after two weeks at the vet.
The dog has some serious scars and walks with a limp but she is alive and living a good life. -
At least Mack trucks still do it the right way.
FlaSwampRat, QuietStorm, wore out and 3 others Thank this. -
After having two 'they started and stopped short' incidents where the protruding tow eye punched the auto bumper yet the actual bumper didn't hit the auto; all the company drivers were told to put them away. a month later I confiscated any still sticking out...3 out of 10...any tows will be Penske's guys anyway...
Those two hits added over two grand to our insurance 'experience mod' and are considered 'preventable'. -
Why are you running into cars?QuietStorm, upnorthwpg and Lepton1 Thank this.

I thought the ones on my 359 were pretty trick. I just need a way to defeat the spring return mechanism so I can drive around with them sticking out. Apparently they will save my bumper when I rear end a four wheelerLast edited: Jun 10, 2019
