There are some things you do without or have more limited access to that most folks take for granted.

In my case I found that living on the road helped me to appreciate the little things. Because I don't always have it everyday.

Well that isn’t necessarily true, if you’re older you might not understand the younger generation in this way. I’m not saying that to be rude, you’re just from a different time where people were more social. When I did OTR I didn’t talk to people for months at a time and I do local now but never talk to anyone anyway. (other than online). I know people
my age who don’t even leave their houses.

Not having those make it more convenient to do OTR. You will still want & need to take time for you. All work will lead to burn-out.

It's also called personal preference or freedom. Everyone makes their choice until they start handing out wooden bowls and free tattoos.

Being anti-social isn't always a bad thing. I know a guy about my age who hasn't been off his ranch and into town in almost ten years. He says it's just too fast paced and noisy.
His kids bring him groceries every couple of weeks and whatever else he needs from the stores in town. He doesn't have a cell phone or a computer. He has a land line phone and TV but he doesn't use either one very much.
The tags on his 72 Ford 4x4 expired a few years ago. He never drives it except on the ranch. His driver's license is expired too.
He's made a deliberate decision to limit the amount of complication in his life. Some people would call him anti social. I call him lucky. Not everyone can...or will...do what he did.
