My first run as a rookie (in 1977) I missed a scale in in Utah. Got pulled over and had to follow the officer to the local courthouse and pay the fine on the spot. The ticket was for "failure to stop at a stop sign". Cost back then was about $150, and about four lost hours of backtracking, parking, and beauracracy.
Drove my the scale by mistake

Nothing will happen.DOT must have been asleep because otherwise one would have got in his pretty car and had you pulled over at the next exit.
mje Thanks this. -
Then bring your cat scale printout into the scale house and explain that you could not "safely" (always use safe as the reason, not excuse) get back into the granny lane to exit into the scale ramp. Then play the "I am new, I am legal. I'm sorry" card.
Chances are it will never happen again.
But it is one reason why a GPS is a good tool. Even though you should have noted all the scales listed in the atlas when trip planning, the GPS will alert you to upcoming scales with a three mile notice. plus or minus each GPS setting...

I dont think he was working out in the sleeper if you blew by the scale you prob had him ######## his pants scared and he was in back trying to hide , taking a downer lmao
But if you blew by it while they where open and didnt bother you i wouldnt worry about it i would start passing alot of them daily -
Just get those stickers that say something like "Military mail".
Then you can blow past all the scales.
or have SUV's with gun turrets escort you while you are carrying the launch code CD from NORRAD to the white house! they will clear out the entire truck stop for you when you need to stop! heheheee

Did they have scales back then? Seriously though, only 3 days driving and the OP trainer trusted him with his life hanging out in the sleeper? His trainer needs to watch the Donner Pass YouTube video where the trainer was in the sleeper and the driver took a curve too fast and tipped over and they both died. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wifwg6xWVAUArizona..Fats Thanks this. -
