Now here's a question, have you ever gone INTO a weigh station that was CLOSED?

The one in Hope, AR (eastbound) was closed a month ago for the first time I can remember since 2005. I don't have prepass currently, so I'm used to having to go in there. I started to slow down and pull in when I saw the orange barrels. Then I swerved back. lol oops!

They were closed cuz they were doing minor road repairs that day at that particular spot.

Has anyone ever blew the scale after getting a red light on the prepass?
If they don't chase you down do you get a ticket in the mail?

I accidentally blew one in Mississippi a few months ago. 400 bucks. Not a moving violation, but I felt very violated when I saw the price tag.

Allow me to disagree....when I was about 6 months experience, and going out on my first flatbed load, I blew the I-90 w/b WA POE. They caught up to me, and followed me back. I was sited for "Failure to obey a traffic control device" (signs telling trucks to go into scale), which was three points on the MT licence. I went to court and it was dismissed, but it most certainly was a MOVING VIOLATION.

So I was on the phone, while packing my gum with Big Rigger Gum, had my QUALCOMM in my lap, & trying to find a good radio station. I blew the scale. Sorry.

I had a Texas License plate, they hit me with a rubber hose. Just Kidding, My Broker coughed up a lung. 133.00 fine for no index lights on the trailer. I told him/before I left. Cost 9.23 for the blubs. Dumb As*s never pays. Use your brain. not your back.
