DrtyDiesel Goes Back OTR

Six including me, plus an O/O.

The hotel is pretty nice and the breakfast ain't bad, normal hotel breakfast stuff. Still good though

 

I paid to upgrade but the ticket system didn't want to sell me the seat, so once it finally did the guy just refunded the money to me since it took so long. If I ever fly again, it'll be first class. Free drinks and food, oh yeah.

Ill keep it updated, I love it here so far

 

I wish I had a keyboard for this now, but ill the the best I can on my phone.


Anyway, we got through everything today and didn't lose anyone. Lunch was awesome but dinner wasn't so great, our waitress kept messing up our order but in all I can't complain, it was free food. Plus she was beautiful and around my age so... I ain't complaining haha.


I'm called "soccer mom" since I get the pleasure of driving the other guys back and forth in the mini van. We had to go rent a car since we had a lot of people in our class. Well, more than the ban would fit.

I'm back at the hotel now, enjoying the cool air, bout to jump on our homework we have. It shouldn't be too hard. Our instructor Ron is awesome, he's a character. He definitely makes me laugh and helps the day go by, however sometimes you can't tell if he's being sarcastic or not lol

I'm the youngest in my class and I get made fun of a little haha, in one video they mentioned "even a 2 year rookie can get into trouble". Ron turns to me and says "man, you're not even a rookie." Haha.

Everyone is real nice, plus the other drivers aren't like some places and don't act snobby. They say hey to ya and ask how things are going in orientation. One driver and I have to go to Oklahoma Thursday to get our twic card, so that'll be fun.... Maybe not


Then Friday we'll go to Ft Worth to get our truck assignments and meet our dispatchers and everyone. I'm looking forward to working here a while, I was told being from Florida ill be required to stay out at least a month, I don't have a problem with that. I know I'll make good money here and look forward to it.

Ill keep y'all updated on everything, I'm real excited to see what truck I get Friday, either way it's a win win for me, I either get a Pete or kw, two of my favorite brands of tractor, so I'm grinning from ear to ear every time I set foot on that yard

 

Yeah no twic card offices in Texas I guess. It's just shorter to Oklahoma I suppose

 

Eating at deter's BBQ today, Mexican food tomorrow. Everyone passed their DOT physicals today, so it's better and better.

Gonna enjoy my cheeseburger!
