True, but it should be tested for when it comes to operating a cmv. And as these types of testing start happening, we need a way to separate a medical user from a rec user. Time will tell I suppose.

As long as there are lawyers, trucking companies will drug test drivers , even us old drivers .
You want to defend yourself in court, by saying but I smoked a joint a few hours ago , I don't care who's fault the accident is you will be charged and that goes for any level of blood alcohol too, good luck with that

They need to test if you are high while working. Not if you smoked a bowl last Saturday.

I agree you are an idiot if you are high driving. But what you do off the clock is no ones business.

Of course you shouldn't be intoxicated on anything while driving. However if you honestly think that marijuana consumed 3 weeks ago, on in case of hair follicle months ago has an effect on someone's driving your kidding yourself.

It's been my argument all along. If it's ok to drink off duty then it should be ok to smoke off duty. As long as the intoxicating effects are gone before you drive.

If things are to stay the way they are, I want to see them come up with a method of testing to see if alcohol was consumed in the last 30 days. I then want to see every driver tested to see if they had a drink in the last 30 days. Any amount of booze your out.

How many empty seats would we have. Tons of trucks suddenly sitting.

I don't drink and wouldn't take issue with such a policy change. Suddenly my pay would go up significantly.

    See how absurd this is?

think about just how bad Oxycontin is. its a national disaster and big pharma has gotten really rich off of creating addicts, they have gotten rich off of killing people. hereon always starts with opiate pills.
