I called LGT and they don't really have a recruiter. Not a huge company so I'm not surprised. The operator said the safety guy handles hiring and all that but he wasn't in the office at the time. She did tell me they'll hire me in Oklahoma, didn't even ask a specific city in Oklahoma either. She said they hire people from all over. I gave her my number for the safety guy to call me.

I haul fuel regionally out west, and make good money. I'm interested in going full OTR though. Can you think of any names of OTR chemical companies that would be worth looking into?

I love my tanker life. I'm a guy that if tanker work is a little short, bossman will hook me up to a reefer or van. I'm paid the same rate pulling a box as I am on a tanker. The mixup is nice here and again. As far as a 13 speed? Unless you're grossing 50 ton or more, 10 speed gets it done.

I think we're hiring a regional driver if you wanna move to the frozen tundra of ND! LOL!

I was always grossed out with 50 in the tank driving a preemission 12.7 with a 10 speed

Would have loved to be able to split 9-10 on a lot of climbs. That seemed to be a big leap.

And it seemed by the time you caught 9th and lost a little headway you were already having to grab eigth.

Down stairs plenty of power to get it moving.

My personal semi I’ve yet to put on the road has a 13 with a n-14 red top looking forward to being able to split some gears while climbing.

I noticed that nobody recommended Kenan. Something wrong with them?

I renewed my app with them after receiving an email from their recruiting people. I remember seeing a KAG sleeper parked outside of a house up in San Jon NM just north of me. They seem to have plenty of OTR chemical runs, along with daycab/local fuel runs in some spots.

I pulled mostly refers before going to tanker/hazmat 18 years ago.
I will sum up the advantages simply like this,,,
No lumpers to deal with, shippers and receivers are usually glad to see you and want to get you loaded or unloaded. And most importantly, the load doesn’t have to be there yesterday!
