I have bought several in that price range, they were sold as storage trailers, and that is what they were. I would consider a decent roadworthy trailer with a good floor in that price range will be somewhat of a needle in a haystack. I do not keep up with van prices though.

Another local guy around me gets stuff from Trovei... there's no spit shine but he doesn't make it out to be something it isn't, either. Seems like a decent outfit.

That is why I like buying from Art, he doesn't clean them up or use dealer tricks to hide defects. They are exactly what you see, no smoke and mirror tricks.

His family has been in the business for a very long time and have a good reputation locally. I actually worked for his brother in law, Kenny, back when I was in high school and have been dealing with him for over 30 years now.

Depending on how long you plan to continue trucking and how much money you have, have you thought about a new trailer? They’re about 30k. You can use it for 10 years, and then sell it. Newer trailers are lighter, require less maintenance, have better features, are more fuel-efficient, won’t have hidden mechanical issues from previous owners, and you can haul heavier loads if need be. If you can buy it cash, you may be able to get it for less. Wabash and Great Dane appear to be the most sold dry van trailers.

I’d say storage trailers will probably need new airbags and tires at the very least. As we all know, good tires are not cheap.

You never know, I mean every storage trailer was on the road until it isn't anymore. A guy could be getting one that is just headed to be a storage trailer once sold.
Companies also have different parameters of when to get rid of them, some will be just age.
