Who makes the best dry van. I've been looking at Great Dane and Utility but would like some input from those of you who have used some of these.
I think utility is a cheaper brand, kind of like buying a Hyundai instead of a Lexus. I have a Wabash duraplate and I really like it. Although I must say I was looking at another trailer today, it was a Stoughton? At any rate it was interesting because it had an air ride different from the Wabash. The Wabash uses an actual Boogie between the axles but that trailer only had a single arm for each axle much like a Freightliner suspension. With that being said if you want a trailer you're going to Shell out a ton of money now. Anybody that has a trailer that they don't absolutely need is saying I want a million dollars for my trailer and if you don't want it I don't care somebody else will buy it. And he's right because somewhere there's a lunatic some place that is so desperate they'll pay whatever price is asked.
as a company driver, i have had Hyundai, Great Dane, Utility, Stoughton. but i think there may be a shortage of new units. even very goos used ones may be hard to find.
I had wabash build me a reefer for hauling Breyers ice cream back in the day with the interior light package. The roof leaked and in the end 1 light out of 4 still worked , would i buy another Wabash , no.
Doesn't matter which brand. If you take care of it, it will take care of you. If you beat the #### out of it, it will oblige you.
I still see tons of old bashes going down the road. Way back in the early 2000s that's the only wagon the company my dad was leased to would by
Great Dane, have had them last 20 years. At 10 year mark drop a new tandem box under it and refurbish slider rails. Take care of them wash every week. Power wash the bottom 2 times a year, don’t use them in a drop and hook scenario unless you want them beat to hell.
