Replaced the purge valve on my Bendix AD-IS air dryer as it was beginning to stick. Now when I started up the truck, the secondary tank filled and nothing to the primary. I've triple checked the replacement as being the correct part and installed correctly. Once the secondary fills, the dryer purges but no air goes into the primary tank.
I'm really at a loss here. Any suggestions or advice would be very much appreciated.![]()

Does your truck have 3 air tanks?
-
Nope just the primary and secondary.
-
OK, The schematic I'm looking at shows a wet tank (or supply tank) feeding both the primary and secondary tanks. I'll assume your primary tank is your wet tank and feeds the secondary tank? Or is the dryer plumbed to feed both tanks simultaneously?

The ADIS is a POS IMHO.
I am stuck with it myself on my current rig.
I always remove the ADIS from the tank to work on it, and have actually rebuilt it all at home.
The tank that it is attached to is filling, or not?
Did you remove the ADIS to replace the purge valve, or leave it on the rig?
There are two ports on the ADIS that supply the primary and secondary I remember, let me look at my service data for it and see if it lists anything like what you describe.

I think the supply tank is a "resevoir" tank that is unique to this dryer. Here is a link to the dryer I have. http://www.bendixvrc.com/itemDisplay.asp?documentID=5916
bender Thanks this. -
If I have to replace this pig, I don't want to install the same thing if I don't have to. Just need to find one that does what this one does (two tanks, auxiliary ports for cab suspension, heat, etc. -
####, tried pasting a flow diagram for the ADIS showing all ports and valves.
Shoot me your email addy and I will email to you mate.

That link that I posted showed all that. I remember reading that the pressure protection valves are not replaceable and therefore the dryer would need to be replaced. Just want to make sure that's what wrong with this bugger.

They also say that the thing itself is not able to be rebuilt, when I have done it.
I would pull it apart and try to free up the pressure protection valves myself.
