Dual Canadian/US Citizen without US D.L.

Hi there. I am wanting to drive in the US but do not have a US D.L. as of yet. I talked to Swift and they said I would have to wait one year after acquiring my US D.L. in order to attend one of they're schools. I now finally have enough money to attend school and was wondering if someone could let me know of any schools that will take me in down South in the US if I have only just required a US D.L. I am willing to travel to wherever that school may be. Thanks very much.
