Hi I am wanting to possible move my exhaust pipes to the side of my cab on my t600 bringing the exhaust up and over the gas tanks my only problem is I can't figure out how to mount the exhaust pipes to the cab does there need to be play when the cab bounces?? How can this be accomplished without ripping the pipes off the truck when hitting a bump...

    Thanks

Seeing as a W900 and T800 has the same cab I'd eyeball a few of them to see how they are done .. Just a idea

kenworths use a frame mounted bracket that supports the bottom of the stack and then the top mount is a bushing on the pin that supports the stack from moving away from the frame but allows the cab to move up and down independantly.

peterbiults use the stacks mounted solid to the cab and a peice of flex underneath. but the newer petes (388-389's) use a setup more similar to the kw stack mounts.

It would be difficult for the bracket to the frame sense I would be going over the gas tanks... Now if I use flex tube would it brake ? It would be very simple for me to connect it with that...

the majority of kenworths that are equipt with stacks have the rear mounted stacks with the front mounted battery/tool box steps and the exhaust runs between the two. i did find one picture of a forward mounted tank kw with stacks apears to be using more of a freightliner setup. stacks mounted to the cab with a under the cab over the frame exhaust system.

flex pipe always seems to need to be replaced more frequently the longer the run of flex the more movement it can take.

the kw frame bracket setup inst perfect either the elbows tend to crack at the bottom and i have seen the top bushing mount fail as well.

Make sure you use stainless flex pipe ,it lasts way longer than the galvanized and chrome band clamps. That way there won't be any rust streaks!

I've got a 94 t600 set up the way you want it to go, here's a detail of the top mount bracket

To be fair I have seen exactly 2 kw t600s set up this way in the year and a bit I've had her, and one is my truck
second the ss thing, do NOT let kenworth get your sleeves or flex pipe, they gave me galv when I explicitly requested ss, when I told them it was galv, (magnet test) they said ss was lightly magnetic ( it is, but a magnet doesn't grab ss the way this did) I even showed them where on package it said galv, they wouldn't admit mistake
