He is absolutely 100% spot on in stating that there is no shortage of American Drivers… A lot of folks clearly understand why the ATA is pushing this
Duffy absolutely obliterated the ATA’s “ driver shortage” narrative

If the stories are true that I'm watching on YouTube ICE is cracking down on illegal workers, this should of been done many years ago and to many governments just allowed it to continue, if a lot of foreign drivers are removed this would once more create a shortage if they were indeed taking jobs off US citizens and Lawful permanent residents. This of course would exclude anyone in the US legally on an approved work visa like a H2a used by harvesting contractors and farmers to hire workers for the busy spring/ summer harvest, and H2b visa used by resorts, hotels, transport companies to hire seasonal workers. These visas are usually only valid for about 8 months with the worker required to leave the US once the work is complete, unless the company files for an extension.

"..the ATA isn’t fighting for your survival. They’re protecting the system that keeps your profit margins squeezed while their members reap the benefits of cheaper labor, broader exemptions, and volume discounts."
It’s Time for the ATA to Relinquish Their Claim as the Voice of the American Trucker. FreightX Has It From Here
"...ATA executed a hard pivot, ditching the blanket shortage claim and reframing it as a “shortage of quality drivers.” This isn’t an honest reckoning with their decades of misinformation—it’s a desperate goalpost shift to salvage credibility amid the wreckage they’ve caused, without ever admitting the original story was built on lies."
ATA caves on driver shortage lie: hard pivot to ‘quality’ dodge, no apologies
As a holder of a CDL or a dependent of one, you should be looking for ways to degrade and/or limit the influence of the ATA. I would think the Teamsters would make this a mission, but I doubt they are any different or at a minimum they have lost their way.Rideandrepair, broke down plumber, exhausted379 and 2 others Thank this. -
Did anybody see the video of the proximity of the ATA headquarters to the USDOT headquarters? You can throw a rock at it.
