Delivered a load to Round rock. Took off first tarp in parking lot. Had to wait to remove second tarp at unloading area. So I got it off and quickly folded it.
Fast forward a couple weeks later, went to use this set of tarps and unrolled first one and got it started. Unrolled second one and thought something doesn’t look right here... I had folded the #### thing inside out and had to completely flip it over on the load. Lmao. Can’t help but laugh sometimes.

Then on an 8 day trip I lost my pickup key somewhere between where I park my truck or in my truck. I remember locking the doors but could not find it. Tore the truck apart. Had wife drive to where I park my truck to look on the ground etc. no dice. Called locksmith and Ford to see what a new chip key would cost (since I didn’t have a spare.
Decided to just wait until I got home and I would unhook trailer and bobtail home. Got to my parking spot. Hopped out of big truck and walked around and in about 30 seconds there was the pickup key laying in the gravel looking like it had been run over a few times. Lolol. I now have a spare with me at all times.

Now for one that cost me a few dollars in fuel... picked up a load on a Friday, didn’t deliver until Monday, so I parked it in my secure secure lot Friday afternoon to leave Sunday to deliver Monday morning. Headed out Sunday and got about 75 miles down the road. Looked over where I keep an enclosed clipboard with my current BOL and it isn’t there. Find a place to pull over and crawled in sleeper and around passenger side and no clipboard. I had left it in pickup at parking area. Had to turn around and head all the way back. So 75 one way, turn around and go the 75 miles back then redo that 75 miles plus the time involved. Cost me some fuel money.

    Lessons learned lol

My list is too long and embarrassing. So, I’m just gonna awkwardly point and laugh at you for right now.

Yeah... I can't say I haven't done my fair share of stupid things.
I managed to leave my pallet jack a couple times at a receiver or shipper. Luckily, always managed to retrieve it.

When they first introduced the spread axle, I was told that you could put 40k on the spread. So, the very next coil I got was 38k. I put it right between the spread axles. Got a ticket at the first scale I went to.

Why am I getting ticketed? That coil is only 38k!

But it balances out if you put another 38k in the front.

Left an aluminum document box/clipboard ( whatever it’s called) and a pair of leather gloves sitting on top of it on the tail board of my liftgate behind my straight truck. Drove 10 miles up I-35 and 1/2 mile down a rough road to my next stop. Got there and dang it no clipboard in the cab with me. Bad feeling of gonna crap myself came over me as I remembered were I last saw it. I had 60 something tires to drop and the shipper with the 20 something different sku’s was now missing!
Got out, walked around back and it was still sitting there and still with one glove near by.
It was like it was glued were I set it. Crazy!
I never let it leave my sight again.

Goes to show even the stupid deeds get lucky sometimes.

In the beginning of the year I had a similar situation. I left my truck at the mechanic, so once I got back from my vacation and I went to pick my truck up straight from the airport. However, I couldn't get a hold of him to ask where he left the keys. Luckily, I had my spare with me. As soon as I got on the highway, he texts me that the keys were in the left wheel. Well too late now, those are probably gone. The next day, I go to check on the truck and lo and behold the keys are hanging on the valve stem.

My oops that I laugh about happened 20 years ago . I was grossing 99,000 lbs had a 430 Detroit I climbed the coq at a crawl got to the rest area at the top . Went to bed and woke up early in the dark I accidentally turned the wrong way and was forced to go back down to a turn around and climb it again. All told I lost 75 minutes and probably burnt 15 gallons of fuel lol

Was hauling a load in northern alberta. Tractor stalled with no warning at highway speed. 1/4 mile up the road was a side road. I managed to coast, turned off the highway and stopped. I opened the sleeper door and grabbed my scanner. Left the door open while I opened the hood. As I'm hooking the scanner up there was a ruckus in the cab. A raven the size of a turkey had flown into the sleeper thru the open door and was shredding my lunchbag and BOLs. I had to get in the passenger side and flail my winch bar to shoo him out. I never left a door open after that.
