Because sometimes they run out of white trucks.

It's the pigment in the paint that does that.

The White Motor Company built all its trucks and painted them a gray primer.
Truck was shipped to the dealer and he painted it the color you ordered.
Now, you could take it in primer and he owed you a paint job.
I knew of companies that took then in gray primer, ran 2 or 3 years and came back for
the paint job.. Another coat of gray primer. True-That is one reason for so many gray

Blue trucks tend to be the lease purchase scam trucks. White trucks tend to be the company driver trucks. The real answer ? Whatever they can get the best deals on.

The same reason most fleets no longer keep true to their company livery color scheme, resale value.
It is easier to sell different colored trucks instead of basic fleet white or say pumpkin orange. The fleets that stay true, or mostly true to their livery are the fleets that tend to keep equipment much longet that the typical mega fleet renewal cycle of 18-24 months.Rubber duck kw, bzinger and alds Thank this. -

The blue trucks are white trucks that are just bruised from being beaten up in more accidents.

Its for resale value. Its easier to sell a blue or any different color truck, then it is to sell a generic white fleet truck.
