I was at a truck stop in Bethany Mo. and watched a driver running a extension cord from his block heater to a inverter. I made the mistake of making eye contact and he walked over and asked if I knew how many watts a block heater pulled. I told him I was not sure and asked if he was shutting his truck down. He looked at me like I was crazy and said no he was going to idle all night. I then made the mistake of trying to let him know that his oil would stay warm as it ran through the engine. You would of though I told him the dumbest thing he ever heard of. he walked off in mumbling under his breath. went in to get some coffee and he had another driver cornered who was also trying to explane that his oil would stay warm as he idled all night
Dumbest questions you have been asked at a truck stop

that's preety bad but they are getting more and more common now days. I had a guy in my shop about 2 weeks ago saying that some other mechanic told him the clutch was bad and wanted me to change it the only problem was that he was under a load and had about 2 hrs of free time for some reason he thought this would be enough time for me to change the clutch when i told him i need about a day and a half he looked at me like what the #### man what are you going to do for that long.
