I work mostly on the Kalifornia side and those guys are VERY STRICT on weight. I had to pay an $800.00 over loaded ticket last summer. When I stay in Nevada I will usually run up to 14 tons with no problem. If we stay off road then the sky's the limit for some of these loaders. I've carried as much as 18 tons on my truck. Don't like it, but I've done it

Hauling between 14 and 13.5 tons pretty much all day, front axle weight was around 14,000 to 16,000. Drivers stayed +/- 500 of 36,500. Starting to look like adding a drop axle and getting my 3 axle combo on the back to 42,500 is going to be the best money spent.

I just turned on 08 Pete into a ten wheeler this year in case they enforce those stupid carb laws in Kalifornia. I'm thinking of adding a drop axle, too.

We get paid hourly. No outfits around here pay by tonnage yet, I can see it happening down the road though at least with the bigger outfits

Could use some advice on techniques for quad dump and fix quad axle pup
operating,
have approx less than a yr on this and only toting loads from
hazmat processor to a tipping floor at a rail transfer
shed with concrete floor.
conditions were tight for Jackknifing the pup, but was same place same site every time
now taking on a possible highway aggregate job
before I'd try and dump atleast next to the other pile without driving
or pulling back over anything on way out
also avoided dumping over pup tongue, always wondered
how can tell when backed just about up to bar during this maneuver,
appreciate answer or suggestion here
I never did have to shorten up during this, and always wondered when
should use this, jobsite only or anywhere useful
air bag drop, I did this but have seen where others dumped without
dumping a little bit over on the bar normal and acceptable?
not completely up to date for sure, any pros out there
care to elaborate?
This is all inner city hauls or at most within an hr drive one way
TIA to the pros out there, I'm well versed generally in heavy haul
but recognize my shortcomings -
What is the reason for only 13 tons on a 3 axle dump? We run 17-19 in ga.
