I've been lurking around, reading and gathering info on a good first otr truck. I'm currently in the dump truck field but need to expand to year round paychecks! I've been looking at pre-egr Freighliners with 12.7 Detriots or possibly a ex Wal-Mart truck from an auction. Any advice out there?

There will be plenty of advice on the forum with your question if you ask there. Welcome to the forum and Good Luck. As an afterthought: You are about to start OTR- In a few months I'm going to work seasonally doing dump truck & etc.. Kinda ironic in a very left-handed way..:)

I have always wondered how seasonal workers managed...

Sorry I can't help with truck purchase advice. I have only driven company trucks for my short 1.5 year career...
