Been unemployed for a few months now and I was hoping someone out there could maybe give me some insight as to the best local CDL training (paid by self or company paid for hire) and if there is any union representation and best possible companys to work for who hire qualified Dumptruck operators. I'm obviously new to this so any information would be helpful. Thanks a bunch.

Yeah... Prime for sure. Great company and you'd get by the house all the time.
Springfield is full of OTR companies... Prime, O&S, Transland, IWX, APT, CTI, etc. There are all kinds of opportunities in Springfield... trucking and otherwise. That town has made me a small fortune over the years. -
Wow, "Prime" and "great company" in the same sentence...First for everything I guess

Sorry if that hit a nerve to anyone fighting that terrible disease, I just thought it a fitting comparison....
Funny though, I called there for a buddy of mine @10yrs ago, when he was hauling glass out of Ks, and he wanted to see what they paid. He wasn't the pest chisel in the box, thus asked me to call on his behalf to ask what it paid and what gets deducted etc. Once you get past the "lease our truck" BS...... it was still a crappy deal.
I guess if they run company trucks and you will NEVER consider a lease deal with them, then maybe...
