During your first year with Stevens Transport, how many States did you drive through?

another dream, it is about supply and demand... there are 100 people waiting to take your driving job... no need to treat employees with respect, or pay them any more.... the cpm rates for truck drivers are the same today, as they were 20 years ago.... due to the simple fact, there are 100's of wannabe's thinking it is an easy high paying job, that they can get the training for via government funding, or sponsored training, in just 6 weeks....

    then reality hits.

People working at a mcdonalds make less than $300 a week, or less than $16,000 a year....

even with stevens .26 cpm, and 2000 miles a week, one makes $520 a week, or $26,000 a year.

And at 2000 miles a week, you are considered a week driver, and will get the crappy runs.

Sure it is, what else do you judge a company by? What total package are you referring to? Money is the only reason to work and whoever pays the most is where you need to go. I see you haul crude, so obviously you're not interested in working for free either and you shouldn't.

I left a better paying job to come back to the road because I missed it, because I was tired of the corporate world.

Maybe for you money is the only reason... Blah blah blah, bit you are not everybody and different things motivate different people. I enjoy long runs and going back and forth from coast to coast. I am not interested in local delivery driving, I am not interested in short hop regional driving... That just me, others have different motivations.

Here is a question though, if Money is the most important thing, why are you not in Law School? Medical School? Pursuing an MBA?

home time, going where I prefer to run, being able to take more than 4 days off at home, money is 4th on my list of what is important. Am I treated with respect, or am I just a number? Does the equipment get maintained, and quickly fixed? As captain of the ship, when I say I am shutting down due to weather, I am not questioned, or told I have to make on time delivery.

Input costs,,,it's simply not worth it. I had zero degrees making 1k a day in the oilfields why would I waste 10yrs in college to make less money?

No, I make money through investments and side businesses, doesn't matter where I am or what I am doing, I am still making extra money so I can handle driving a truck for less and honestly nothing will compare to oilfield money other than the oilfields themselves. Once the oil prices go back up some more I’ll be right back out there either Offshore or ND as a rig hand or truck driver. I go where the money is. I could still be there now but with a girl and a kid, I try to spend more time with them. I spent 4 months away from them when I first went out there, So I try to avoid that now that we have a house paid for and 2 cars(1 paid off, other 1yr left), and rental property looking to grab more. I try to take care of my family the best I can so I do whatever it takes to support them. I am sure you do & feel the same.

Sounds like now, going where the money is is not as important as you try to let on...

    Oh the contradictions.

    Good Luck Mr Trump
