During your first year with Stevens Transport, how many States did you drive through?

Sorry to change the topic, can you run your own route if its faster or do you have to follow a pre-plan route from dispatch or wherever it comes from? Also, does Stevens have fuel, safety, productivity bonuses? Thanks

Thread hijack over, back to actual topic :) ;) :)

You may run the route you plan, but as a company driver you need to use the fuel stops they give you. Those fuel stops can be changed by your DM if needed. The computer does make some ridiculously funny routes at times. Your out of route miles need to stay less than 10% of the paid miles. You are not paid for the miles you drive, but the miles stevens says the trip will take. You will almost always driver farther than what you are paid for.

Stevens had a fuel bonus, and a clean inspection payment when I drove for them... current drivers/office can correct me if that has changed.

Since I was never really a company driver long enough to answer any of those questions, I'm going to the original topic. It's been a few years, but if memory serves correct, after 1 year, the only states I had not been in were South Dakota, Michigan, Rhode Island, and Maine (aside from Alaska and Hawaii). After the second year Michigan was the only one I had not been to, and in 4 1/2 years there are only a handful of states I haven't been to more than I can count on my fingers. So yes, you get to quite a few of the states.

straight up, no strings......that's the way to give advice!!

Forgot the "w/ quote" part....This is what I was responding to from KMac:

No, not a trainer, I just run what they give me, sometimes its good loads, sometimes crap loads but I run them. I had a week where I had 8 loads in 7 days, one was just over 100 miles, bit ended the week with over 3k... Right now I hit a good week coming off hometime. Picked up a load in Delaware, 1000 miles to Wisconsin, now a 2000 mole load to California, started my week on Wednesday and deliver the Cali load on Tuesday so 7 days, 3k miles.

I am very careful with my hours and know what I have coming back for the next four days always. I use the 8/2 split to my advantage and I trip plan meticulously and constantly. I jist really pay attention to my hours and make it work for me. I keep the left door closed and hammer down.

Of you want to discuss it further send me a pm and I'll send my phone number and I'll be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

There's the story freight isn't telling....#loads. It would seem all that yard work and stop sitting is where alot of the problems occur; accidents on yard and at truck stops. seems like having the longer run loads would decrease the likelihood of risk.

how many of those jobs have been lost in the last year due to the price of oil?? The problem with the oil industry has always been that it ebbs and flows.
