    I used to travel by the one in Bangor as wee lad with my family on the way to Laconia New Hampshire, I thought it was the coolest place ever then. Reserved driver counter, attendants everywhere. My father would take me out to look at the trucks, there was always some friendly drivers who let a curious 8 year old pepper them with questions and play “what is that for?” with everything I could see. That was almost 40 years ago though. It is amazing what a childs mind remembers

    I have never been to Dysart's Truck Stop in my 44 years career and always wanted to. I am taking the Mrs. this autumn on a road tour thru New England and Dysarts is on the list as is Pride Truck Stop in Chicopee, Ma., Scottys Truck Stop in Wilton, NY and Jim's Truck Stop in Cheektowaga, NY. Some of the great MA and PA type old world truck stops left in the NE area.

    I had a look at their website, they still have attendants who pump fuel and wash windows. Good people up that way, I’m biased though coming from New Brunswick. We try to be friendly, as well as chubby.

    I haven't been to Maine since my driving days for B & G Foods. I used to deliver and pick up at their Biddeford warehouse back around 2008.

    Dysarts hasn’t changed much..,foods still decent..,,course like everything else it’s gotta very pricey for a truck stop
    Could use a little sprucing up…but still better n most
    @navypoppop
    Sounds like a good trip.,,Jim’s is also much the same…..Scotty’s hasn’t changed much either.,,Cept…& excuse my bias…tends to be a little dirtier than I’d like…but our northern French friends aren’t shall we say not very respectful
    As for Chicopee.,,don’t waste your time…place is a dump.,,basically turned into a drop lot you can barely move thru..,paid of course..,,fuel
    Island etc are always a cluster.,,and the food is barely tolerable

    I've only been to Dysart's once but I remember they had a really good baked goods section. Good thing the big chains don't have bakeries like that. I'd be diabetic by now.

    I drove out of Maine a few years ago and it was still there...plenty of parking and pretty good food, especially compared to the garbage fast food you can find out here at most truckstops.
