I'm going to do this today. Just bought a truck. Hoping to get the stamped copy. It seems like it is an automated process since it comes back so fast. I've gone in person in the past to the IRS office and also used 2290ASAP for online filing.

OK, update on this. Just e-filed and printed my schedule 1. Looks like they are happy to take your money and the process is automated. You can not walk in and pay it in person because the IRS offices are closed from what I gathered so it's going to cost you the e-file fee from some service.
US MARINE Thanks this. -
I wonder if someone at the IRS actually reviews these or if it is an automated computer process? There might be a chance you get your stamped copy soon unless they unplugged the computer for spite (from orders at the very top of the non-essential heaping steaming pile) when they shut down and walked away from their NON-ESSSENTIAL jobs. I'm guessing the only ones they likely review are the ones that get pro-rated. Let us know if you get a copy back. What kind of truck did you end up getting btw?
US MARINE Thanks this. -
I have the stamped copy already. It has to be automated because I paid the prorated fee and had the copy within 10 minutes on my e-mail.
I ended up buying a 2012 Pete 386; 330k on the ecm/odom. It still has factory warranty for 170,000 miles and 17 months so I decided to pay a little more than I was planning. It's a roll of the dice with any new emissions truck but I just felt it was better getting the SCR truck rather than DPF only due to fuel mileage issues.rollin coal and US MARINE Thank this. -
